When the isles continue the trend of win two lose three, solidify their spot outside the top 8, then what? Does management bring up the positives of the season?? Cause other than Tavares and Hamonic, there werent any.

I'm sorry but PA is not part of the future to me. Yes he's put up points, but the isles cornerstone is a finesse player (JT). To me the isles have too much finesse and not enough grit. Look at every successful team in this league. They all have sandpaper. Matt Martin is only one player.

As a season ticket holder, I expect changes for this team.........I'm tired of paying for sub par line ups. It's time the management stops lying to us, and selling BS products. To me, this years draft will say a lot........Garth needs to make moves.

I'm a little disappointed that PA and Nabby were not traded yesterday.

If they want to resign in the summer that would be fine.

But the 2 first rounders would have been great to have @ the draft.

As for the trade for Rolston and Mottau... all that did was free Mr. Wang from paying 1.5 million dollars out. It didn't help the team out in any way.

I never want the Isles to lose... but a Washington win does keep the Leafs out of the playoff race.

And a top 5 lottery pick looks good to me right now. Top 3 even better!!!

It helps the team in relation to Mottau and his giveaways every game. To Rolston screwing up the PP by missing the net and having the puck clear the offensive zone.... I'm a little worried that Nabby may be getting a little payback on the isles by not saying he wants a trade and waiving his no trade as a way of ensuring they get nothing in return...kinda as he may have felt they screwed him out of playing for a contender last year...may be a stretch but you just never know...but then again come july 1 we will won't we.

What is Nabokov, a 10 year old? Why would he even negotiate if he had no interest in re-signing?

what two first rounders are you referring to? Because neither PAP or Nabby were bringing back a first rounder. There is absolutely no rumor that a first was even offered for either guy. PAP was maybe bringing back a second, Nabby possibly a third. There is no reason to believe that either guy was bringing back a first.

I agree 100%, however moving Nabby and PAP for mid level picks or possibly a second for PAP are not the moves he needs to make. Snow needs to make impact trades. He needs to make trades for impact veterans, guys that can change the make-up of the team. The cupboard is full of prospects. Move some of them for established, signed veterans. Move picks in this coming draft and the '13 draft for established, signed veterans.

Moving vets for picks isn't going to improve this team in any way. If you want the team to advance in this "rebuild" that's now concluding year four in the same general spot that the team finished in years two and three, you need to add impact vets to the core of the team. Truthfully, the "core" can't be considered anyone beyond JT, MM, PAP and Hamonic right now, since they are the only young players that did anything this season.

In response to your response about the isles paying 75 percent already. The isles saving 1.5 shmill is a big deal to this organization. The same organization who cancelled the radio broadcast to save money.

You shouldn't pay for season tickets next year unless changes are made. They need 2 NHL caliber defensemen and at least one power forward...I've had Giants season tickets for over 30 years and I'm always complaining and they have won 2 Super Bowls in 4 years. Also I have Red Bulls Season Tickets and I switched this year to a partial plan and told the sales manager that the team sucks...when the Islanders call me I told them this time when they move to Brooklyn, give me a call...

I can't say for sure what was offered... only the GM's can. But I would be surprised if both didn't have a first round pick attached to them.

Gaustad got a first...lol.

Kostitsyn got a second.

No he is a little older than 10 but he has showcased himself and think about it, he had hopes of Detroit last year...Isles took that away. A stanley cup is a big deal at his age (again not 10, ) .... and we all know what its like in winning and losing in hockey and how it makes you feel...maybe he still holds that against them and it would kinda put it to them. Hey its a thought, my thought..you don't have to agree. its why i brought it up to see what guys think. no need to go act like a 10 year old though

No way. That's absurd. I saw someone else write this yesterday and its ridiculous. Think about it. If you're Nabokov and you wanted out to go to a contender, you'd announce to the world that you'll waive your no trade and not have your agent negotiate an extension on LI. Nabby is going to look out for himself and what's in his best interests. He's not going to screw himself out of a chance to get traded to a contender just to get "payback" on the Isles.

I think Nabby had a very poor perception of the Isles last year when he was claimed off waivers (shocker!) and he simply felt like he'd rather not play than come to Long Island. Then, when he didn't have a choice but to play here, he gave it his all, came in with an open mind and saw that LI wasn't the sh**hole that the rest of the NHL and hockey media make it out to be. He probably figures he can finish out on LI, get paid good money to do so, and start for the rest of his career, which isn't too bad a proposition for a 37 year old.

We are on the same page, but I was suggesting stockpiling picks for trades this draft. Garth should trade this years first rounder, I think we all agree on that. However, I don't see Garth trading the same prospects he's drafted. So to me, trading picks for established NHL vets is the way to go. That said, why not add as many picks possible to do so. Later round picks could still bring back good talent.......I.E Hamonic, Martin etc.

I don't buy into the whole PA wants to be a part of this turn around. I'm not 16 anymore.........it's a business. PA is looking to see who's gonna offer him the most money......and he should. So let's say he walks july 1st to a team that offers him more than what snow deems fair market value........then what? To me that's a real risk, and the isles will be left with nothin out of this. Better to be ahead of the curve, and get the 2nd round pick for an "overachieving" parenteau.
